How much does it cost for the installations?
Installation cost depends on the number of fixtures you have and the complexity of your plumbing system. The minimum cost for a softener is $1,000. This covers: The installation of the water softener Replacement of old softener cartridges, testing and verification of plumbing connections and water quality replacement or repair of pipes, fixtures, fittings and connections (including disposals) if necessary.
For an average sized house with a single tank, the cost can be up to $3,000. For larger houses with multiple tanks, the installation cost can be much higher.
How to know what kind of water softeners system is suitable for your needs?
To know what kind of system is suitable for your needs, you need to know how much water you use in a day. To know this, we recommend that you take a sample of water from each of your faucets every day and keep it in an ice cube tray. You can also use the following calculator to estimate your daily water consumption.
We recommend to choose a water softener system that provides over 90% reduction in the amount of salt needed. If the amount of salt required is lower than 90%, we recommend that you upgrade to a system with more efficient salts or consider installing a whole house reverse osmosis (Reverse Osmosis) filtration system.
How long does it take to install water softeners and be ready to use?
We recommend that you have the system installed at least one month before you use it for the first time. The more time that passes, the better your water quality will be and the softer your water will become.
It is not necessary to have a full-scale water softener installed immediately, since the system needs time to adjust and its performance improves over time. For example, if you install a whole house reverse osmosis (Reverse Osmosis) filtration system after installing a water softener, you will need to wait at least 2 months before you can see results.
Can I install my own water softeners systems?
You can install your own Water Softeners system, but you need to be aware that it is not possible to purchase the same system from a different supplier, and then have it installed by a different contractor.
You also need to understand that there are certain areas in the country where you can only install the water softener in-house. If you are not sure of what system is allowed in your area, we recommend that you check with the local authorities or consult a local plumber who has experience installing water softeners.
How do I know if my house needs water softeners?
If your home’s water hardness is more than 250 ppm (parts per million), we recommend that you install a water softener system. The reason why this number is important is because this is the level of hardness at which minerals will start to form scale inside your pipes and fixtures, which eventually damages them.
If you see these symptoms, we recommend that you contact a plumber immediately to determine what kind of water softener would be best for your situation. If your tap water does not contain any minerals or impurities, then no special treatment is needed for it.
What are the common water softeners systems problems?
This can be caused by a number of things, including:
Water Softeners System doesn’t work because of a leak in the water supply or in the pipes
The Water Softeners System is clogged and needs to be cleaned. To clean it, turn off the water supply at the valve or turn off your main water valve at the meter box. Then you need to remove any pieces of scale that are stuck in it with a brush. Once you have done this, turn on the water supply and let it run for at least 15 minutes before turning off again.
The Water Softeners System has not been connected correctly to your plumbing system and/or you have used an outdated cartridge that does not match your piping system.
Is it safe to drink water from water softeners?
In short, there is no problem. However, some water softeners contain sodium and potassium. If you drink soft water after the water is softened, it can lead to serious health problems such as heart attack or even death. So if you use a water softener, don’t forget to drink clean tap water and replace it every few days.
If you use water softeners, we strongly recommend you to use water filters that remove the chemicals that are contained in the water. You can find them on the market and you will get good results with them. If you want to install a water softener, it is recommended that you have a professional to install it. If the installation is not done properly, the whole house will be flooded with the salty water from the softener and cause problems for your family and your property.
